Armenia plans to transit to the digital television standard in 2016, as Arka Telecom informs.
Such a decision was taken by the government during its meeting held last Thursday. The Armenian Ministry of Transport and Communications points out that the country’s leadership proposed several amendments to the laws on TV and radio broadcasting, according to which the transition period from the analogue standard to the digital one would be extended for six months. We shall recall that previously the implementation of digital TV had to be completed by July 10, 2015.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Armenia also added that the implementation date shifting was connected with a greater concretization of social segment, as well as with carrying out a smoother and more uniform transition to the digital TV broadcasting.
