Azerbaydjan will switch off analogue TV this autumn

The Ministry of communications and high technologies of Azerbaijan reported that the complete transition from analogue to digital broadcasting in the country will be held this fall, according to the “Trend Az”.

According to Minister Ali Abbasov, the full transition to digital had been scheduled for June 2015, but was postponed because of the first European Games, which will take place from 12 June to 28 June in Baku.

The Minister also said that Azerbaijan is completely ready for the digital switchover. It will be realized after discussion with the State National Council on Television and Radio  this fall.

At the moment 12  channels in digital standard are available to 99% of the inhabitants of Azerbaijan.
