Ukrainian space industry starts working more actively

The results of the work of the Ukrainian space industry companies are summarized for the 1st quarter of this year.

According to the information announced by the Ukrainian Space Agency, the production of this sector during the first three months of 2015 exceeded the comparable figures of the previous year by 22.2%, and sales by 25.5%.

This growth is shown by the sector’s largest companies like Chemical plant in Pavlograd, Precision Engineering Scientific Center, Arsenal, the Scientific Research Institute of Instrument Engineering, Kommunar Group, Ukrkosmos Company, Yuzhnoye Design Office. Unfortunately, other companies of this sector can not boast of such results, as their production rates dropped.

In general, during three months of 2015 the industry increased its volumes of exported products by 15.6%. The volume of products exported to the Russian Federation decreased from 52.4% (first quarter 2014) to 29.1% (January-March 2015).

This sector’s import decreased by near 70% (up to UAH 49.7 million, or USD 2.4 million). Ukraine started buying 10 times less products from the Russian Federation and 20 times less products from other CIS countries. According to the results of the first three months of 2015, the volume of exported products was 4.7 times as much as the volume of the imported ones.

The average salary in the sector exceeds the Ukrainian average one by near 7%, and it is equal to UAH 3092, which is 9.2% higher compared to the same period of the past year.
