June, 16, 3G network starts functioning in Kyiv and Kyiv Region, providing mobile Internet speed of over 40 Mbit/s.
All users of mobile devices, being Kyivstar’s subscribers and living in Kiev and Kiev Region, can now enjoy high-speed Internet services based on HSPA + technology.
Nearly 700 head-end stations provide a full coverage in the capital and 23 nearest towns. These are Chayki, Borispol, Sophiyevskaya Borshchagovka, Vishnevoe, Hotyanovka, Vita-Pochtovaya, Petrovskoe, Hodosovka, Kotsyubinskoe, Schastlivoe, Romankov, Vyshgorod, Chabany, Lesniko, Petropavlovskaya Borshchagovka, Novoselki, Gora, Khotov, Proleski, Markhalevka, Starye Petrovtsy, Kryukovschina, Petrovtsy.
3G Internet worked in a test mode over that area during the last month. Nearly 70 thousand of subscribers made use of the high-speed Internet service. The company calculated that it was consumed almost 25,000 terabytes of traffic in total, what amounted to near 50 MB a day per person.
To activate 3G Internet service Kyivstar offers one of the new tariffs or Internet access packages of different volumes (50-3000 MB). It does not require the replacement of SIM-card for those who has been already enjoying the mobile operator’s services.
We shall recall that the high-speed Internet access service has already been enjoyed by Kyivstar’s subscribers in Brovary and Lviv.
