The National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NKRZI) approved the draft law On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding the Transmitting Equipment for TV and Radio Broadcasting, suggested by the Cabinet of Ministers, which provides for the VAT exemption for imported TV and radio transmitters, as reported by UNN.

That decision was voted by all 6 NKRZI members who attended the meeting.
The draft law №2450 provides for simplifying the procedure of importing transmitters for television and radio broadcasters to the Ukrainian customs territory as from January 1, 2016.
The Cabinet of Ministers proved the need for such a decision by the scheduled full transition from analog to digital broadcasting format by the end of 2015 throughout the county, under the National TV and Radio Information Space Development Plan, approved by the decision of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine.
According to the authors of the draft law, its passage will ensure sustainable broadcasting of Ukrainian TV and radio channels in the south-east regions of Ukraine, above all in the AR of Crimea, Lugansk and Donetsk regions.
