The introduction of digital broadcasting standard took 6 years.
MIR 24 reports that Armenia switched off the analog TV signal, transfering to the digital broadcasting standard.

We shall recall, as Mediasat reported before, that digital TV will appear in Armenia not earlier than on January 16 next year.
Grigor Amalyan, the CEO at the Television and Radio Broadcasting Network of Armenia, announced that the residents of the country’s central regions had available 18 digital TV channels, and the population of the regional areas was able to receive the signal of 9 channels.
The country built 94 TV towers, and 150 existing ones were rebuilt according to the new requirements of the digital technology.
