The National Broadcasting Council of the country has not yet consented to switch off the analog TV signal.

Ali Abbasov, the Minister of Communications Azerbaijan, stated that the National Broadcasting Council did not agree the country’s transition from analog to digital broadcasting standard because of lack of studying the residents’ preparedness for the event, as reported by Trend Az.
The Minister emphasises that Azerbaijan has all the technological capacities, but cannot do it because of the problems that may be faced by population. Ali Abbasov also recalled that introducing digital TV is totally subject to the decision of the National Council.
We shall recall that Azerbaijan did not cut off the analog TV before, in view of the first European Games held in Baku.
