Akhmetov’s Holding Company will cultivate the brand Xtra TV.

The Digital Screens Company (brand Oll.tv), that obtained a satellite broadcasting licence at the last meeting of the National Broadcasting Council, plans further development of the platform Xtra TV. It is reported by Telekritika, quoting Alexei Kurakin, the Business Development Director at MGU.
We shall recall that in June of present year, the Xtra TV announced suspending its operation. It became known soon that the operator formed part of the MGU Media Holding Company, one of Rinat Akhmetov’s businesses.
Mr. Kurakin pointes out that for all the time of its existence the satellite provider operated in Ukraine without any licence, representing the foreign operator Broadcast Services. Now, the Xtra TV will be renewed, as DTH is a very promising market segment.
Alexei Kurakin also states that the number of rebroadcasted TV channels will increase as well.
