Apple wants to produce video content for Russian users.

The Kommersant, with reference to its sources, reports that Apple is about to cooperate with Russian online video services on designing applications for its digital multimedia player Apple TV.
This refers to such online cinemas as Okko, Megogo, Amediateka, Ayyo, Nemo TV and ivi.ru. Apple will get profit in the same way as in case of iTunes Store, i.e. by charging a fee from the sold content.
Artur Sakharov, one of the Redmadrobot’s chief executives, believes that today, given the high solvency of users of Apple TV, the service will become the best solution for using VoD applications.
Yegor Yakovlev, the founder of the free online cinema Tvigle, points out that the future of Apple TV in Russia is still unclear, as its development can be impeded by piracy and the use of such widespread technology as Smart TV by the Russians.
Viktor Chekanov, CEO at Megogo in the Russian Federation, did not confirm to the Kommersant information about the joint work of the video service with that US company. Quite on the contrary, he stated that Apple intended to enter the competitive market, and in order to stay there it would have to design quality applications to fill in its multimedia project.
Unfortunately, the representatives of Apple did not provide the Kommersant with their comments.
