The largest Russian online cinema is expanding.

The Russian online cinema Ivi will appear on the market of 11 countries. It is published by the Vedomosti edition, citing Oleg Tumanov, the company’s CEO.
The Ivi’s content was previously available only by consent of the right holders and only in Russia, i.e. depended on regional binding of users (geo targeting). Right now the company has entered into agreements on acquiring additional rights with broadcasters from several CIS countries. According to Mr. Tumanov, the users of other countries obtained above all the option of accessing Ivi’s web site and applications for Smart TV, and soon they will have an access to mobile applications.
Today, the audience of online cinema in Russia totals 24 million people. According to Oleg Tumanov, the number of viewers of online cinemas will potentially reach 50-60 million in CIS countries per month, what will ensure a moderate business growth.
The company’s CEO points out that Ivi does not intend to run large advertising campaigns and it will be promoted primarly by means of its technology partners and dealers of mobile units, as the company’s entry to the markets of other countries does not require significant investment from the company at the first stage.
