Fight against resources posting unlicensed content yields results.

The web site with unlicensed audio records Pleer.com, visited by near 2.6 million people per month, will be locked for under the decision of the Moscow City Court, as reported by RBC. The resource is authorized to appeal the judicial authority’s ruling within a month. Otherwise, the documents will be submitted to the consideration of the Roskomnadzor, which will block access to Pleer.com in Russia.
We shall recall that the intention to block access to pirate online resources became known in early July this year.
The trial was initiated upon the claim of the Russian division of the Universal Music recording company in view of illegal posting songs by Diana Arbenina.
As Mediasat reported before, the right holders were looking forward to blocking access for the life term to the content which, in their opinion, was illegally posted on RuTracker.org. After failed discussions, the RuTracker’s management posted the polling for its users about the resource’s future fate.
We would also like to remind that, according to Alexei Volin, the Deputy Minister of Communications of Russia, a growing number of Internet users prefers enjoying licensed content.
