The analysis of revenues received by operators of mobile services and Internet shows that during the first three quarters of this year the profitability of these services has grown by near 5%.
The total income of the industry in the first nine months amounted to UAH 41.38 billion, which is more than in the same period of the past year by 5.2%, according to the State Statistics Committee. Moreover, while calculating statistical data for 2014, the Committee also considered the territories of the Donbas region, which are actually out of Ukraine’s control.
The same growth rate as the industry as a whole was demonstrated by mobile communications in the period from January to September, earning almost UAH 25 billion. The profitability of Internet services increased up to UAH 4.46 billion (by 12.3%).
The postal services have brought UAH 2.41 billion, showing an increase of 3.4%.
The drop of profitability goes on being shown by fixed-line telephony. In urban areas the revenues of these communications declined up to UAH 3.82 billion (by 5.6%). In the rural areas, just on the contrary, they increased up to UAH 337.2 million (6.5%). The revenues from international and national long-distance calls decreased up to UAH 1.55 billion, which is 6.2% less than in the same period of the past year.
The cable TV broadcasting during three quarters of the present year showed the profitability of UAH 1.15 billion, which is 5.3% more than in the relevant period in 2014.
