The Red Media Production, incorporated into the Gazprom Media Holding, announced that all holding’s sports TV channels would soon appear under a new brand.
According to “Kabelshchik” (Cableman), a part of the sports TV channels (“Football 1”, “Football 2”, “Football 3”, “Boets” (Fighter), “Sport 1”, “Sport 2”) will be united under the brand “Match!”. In addition to the channels mentioned above, the brand will be completed by the channel “Match! Nash sport” (Our sport), the content of which will contain programs and telecasts dedicated to the advances of Russian sports.
It is expected that the new channel would be not confined to broadcasting sports events just held in the Russian Federation. So, it schedules the Summer Olympic Games to be held in the capital of Brazil. As for broadcasting sports events themselves, the channel is going to devote them near 3.5 hours of its airtime. In addition, the “Match! Nash sport” will show news and educational programs dedicated to different sports.
The modified channel “Match! Sport 1” broadcasting both in SD and HD, will focus on the major events in the world of sport: the Olympic Games, the world athletics and aquatics championships, Formula 1 racing, etc. The broadcasts of sports events will directly get over 4 hours of daytime air.
More time to the broadcasts of competitions of any level is intended to be devoted by the channel “Match! Sport 2” in the new season. The channel will devote over 5 hours a day to the European and world team sports competitions, volleyball matches of the qualifying round for the Olympic Games, tennis cup competitions and European basketball tournaments.
In the new season, the TV channel “Match! Boets” will make the audience happy thanks to the new content, i.e. near 850 hours of broadcasting time will be represented by the premiere programs and telecasts. So, it already announced a new program with the guests who are famous athletes of various martial arts.
The holding’s football family, actually known as the “Plus Football” and incorporating 3 channels, will also appear next year under a new brand (“Match! Football 1”, “Match! Football 2”, “Match! Football 3”), showing its viewers as many as 1,500 football competitions of any level, including the matches of the English Premier League, the French Ligue 1, the Italian Serie A, the German Bundesliga and the Spanish La Liga.
