The operator deprives its subscribers of some channels.

The web site of the Russian satellite TV operator “NTV-Plus” reports that the company ceases the operation of its 3D-channel “NTV-Plus 3D by Panasonic” at the beginning of the coming year.
The statement does not specify the reasons for closing the TV channel. One can only assume that the management of the “NTV-Plus” can not see any prerequisites to develop this activity.
It is also terminated the broadcasting of “HD Kino 2” and “KinoSoyuz” (Cinema Union). The subscribers will no longer have available TV channels with movie premieres like “Kinoreys 1” and “Kinoreys 2” (Cinema Trip). In addition, on December 25, the operator closes the “Fight Club”, since the Gazprom media holding has already a pay-per-view TV channel of martial arts “Boets” (Fighter).

We shall recall that still in early 2015 it became known that the “Gazprom-Media Holding” intended to reorganize the operator “NTV-Plus” by setting up three individual companies: two of them would produce TV content, and the third one would go on providing pay-TV services. Later the Mediasat reported that Dmitry Chernyshenko, the President of the media holding, announced the plans of developing company in cooperation with the mobile operator “MegaFon”.
We also recall that in foreign countries the trend for closing 3D-channels started a few years ago. In July 2013, the Mediasat reported that the US sports TV network ESPN announced its reluctance to continue its pay-per-view TV channel’s 3D broadcasting. After that, the UK public broadcaster BBC also decided to give up its 3D-project. In December 2013, the companies like Sony, Discovery and Imax also resolved to terminate their joint TV channel 3net. In May 2014, the agency IHS Technology prepared a report on the popularity decline of 3D-channels, which led to their closure, as featured by the Mediasat as well. In May 2015 the company Sky also decided to cease its 3D-TV channel’s broadcasting.
