The subscribers of the “Vodafone Ukraine” and life 🙂 in Kharkov can already use 3G-networks of these operators.

As the “Interfax-Ukraine” informs, the mobile operators “Vodafone Ukraine” and life 🙂 announced the launch of high-speed Internet network of the third generation in Kharkov.
According to the agency, the mobile Internet in 3G standard by life 🙂 could be used as of yesterday, and the “Vodafone Ukraine” launched its networks into commercial use overnight into December 29. As for the service launch in other regions subject to the conversion of radio frequencies, there is still no knowing.
We shall recall that in Kharkov, Vinnitsa, Odessa, Zaporozhe and Dnepropetrovsk regions the successful 3G service implementation requires the conversion of the RF spectrum actually used for military needs.
As stated by life :), in terms of the conversion agreement, the operator’s stations and special facilities operate simultaneously, without affecting each other.
The press office of the “Kyivstar” pointed out that for the operator’s UMTS standard the frequency conversion in Zaporozhe, Zhitomir, Cherkassy and Kharkov had not been completed yet. The deadlines of its completion are also unknown.
We shall recall that the tender for 3G frequency distribution was held on February 23 of present year. In early March, Erdal Yayla, CEO at life :), promised to run a high-speed Internet technology in summer. But after a while, the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine announced that the radio navigation equipment occupied the frequencies required for 3G-networks in Odessa, Nikolayev, Kherson, Kharkov, Zhitomir, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Vinnitsa and Zaporozhe. The Mediasat also reported that the conversion price increased, but the operators and the military still managed to agree on service payment.
