The wireless operator “Normatek” sold 50% of its assets to the company “Telesvit” (VOLIA). It is reported by the portal LIGABusinessInform referring to the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Enterpreneurs.

The report also states that the “Telesvit” became the sole shareholder of the company “Normatek” having the authorized capital of UAH 23.6 million.
The deal is expected to close in the first months of this year. According to market experts, the deal value may be equal to the amount of the authorized fund. However, the information is not commented on by the companies.
Today, the company “Normatek” owns the license in the 5.5 GHz band nationwide. According to media experts, the VOLIA made that acquisition due to the availability of the “Normatek”’s license, which would assist the leader of the Ukrainian telecommunication market in arranging its own wireless solution.
Thus, the public access points to the network via Wi-Fi may appear in Ukraine in the near future. At its initial stage the project will be very costly, being in fact just a marketing action to promote and popularize the VOLIA brand.
We shall recall that in October 2015 the VOLIA became a technical partner of free Wi-Fi access in the Rovno city, as well as activated the Turbo-speed for subscribers in five Ukrainian cities.
