Sport to the masses: “Gazprom-Media Match” launches new TV channels

Russia will get another 4 “Gazprom’s” sports channels.

On January 25, 4 new TV channels of the sub-holding “Gazprom-Media Match” start their broadcasting, as the “Sporttvnews” reports. Watching new TV channels “Match! Planeta”, “Match! Igra”, “Match! Arena” and “Match! Nash Sport” the TV audience will have available a huge number of online broadcasts of various sports events, as well as TV programs, news and sports movies.
First after its running, the “Match! Arena” will offer 24-hour broadcasts of the winter sports like biathlon, snowboarding, cross country skiing, and others. Its feature will be a full coverage of the European Figure Skating Championship.
The programs of the “Match! Igra” (Game) will be devoted to various team sports (handball, basketball, volleyball, etc.). The TV channel’s viewers will enjoy also online broadcasts of some winter sports events, not covered by the niche TV channels.
The name of the TV channel “Match! Nash Sport” (Our Sport) speaks for itself, i.e. its airtime will consist of broadcasts of matches organized in Russia, or with the participation of teams from this country. This TV channel’s viewers will be offered the games of Russian team sports clubs. In addition, the channel will air five-minute news items about events in the world of sports.
The TV channel “Match! Planeta” (Planet) will focus mainly on the audience from other countries and continents, replacing the previous satellite TV channel “NTV Plus Sport”. It will broadcast games of Russian basketball, volleyball and other sports teams.
Moreover, the sub-holding conducts rebranding of some existing broadcasting channels that will start operating in their new appearance on 25 January too.
The content of the channel “Match! Boets” (Fighter) will include live broadcasts of martial arts events (boxing, judo and various martial arts). The TV channel’s audience will be offered broadcasts of the first tournament Bellator in 2016.
The channels “Match! Football 1”, “Match! Football 2” and “Match! Football 3” will offer 24-hour broadcasts of football tournaments. The broadcasting grid of the sports channels will remain all the previously aired theme TV programs.
