Over 60 percent of Ukrainians make active use of the Internet

As illustrated in the survey conducted by the Factum Group Ukraine on request of the Ukrainian Internet Association, in the first three months of this year the number of subscribers enjoying Internet services has increased by 4% against the last three months of last year, and it reached 22.8 million people (62 % of Ukrainian residents are 15 plus).

The same percentage of residents using Internet was recorded in the age group under 29 and 30-44 years. About 36% of each category makes use of the worldwide network one or more times per month.

Today, the Internet has become available to near 50% of rural population. In the settlements with population exceeding 100 thousand people this figure reaches the European average (69%).

The Internet access devices, as in the past, are represented mainly by desktops and laptops connected to home network (49% and 48% respectively). However, the survey results show a steady growth of smartphones as the means for going online, they are preferred by 25% of users.
