Cabinet of Ministers approves the implementation plan for Cyber Security Strategy

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the tasks for 2016 to facilitate the implementation of the Cyber Security Strategy of Ukraine.

June 24. Members of the Cabinet of Ministers adopted the Order №440-р, approving the plan of relevant actions. It will comprise 24 items in the following areas:

  • regulatory support activities in the field of cyber security (harmonization of legislation in the matter of protecting public information resources, implementation of an independent audit of the information security of key infrastructure facilities, etc.);
  • creation of a technological component of the national cyber security system;
  • establishment of cooperation with international partners of Ukraine;
  • arrangement of staff training in the field of cyber security.

The plan of actions also includes an item on setting up the national telecommunications network as a single platform of protected electronic communications of public authorities. The performance of these tasks is commissioned to the State Service of Special Communication Administration, but the deadlines are not specified.

In addition, during the year, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the Ministry of Defence, the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the State Service of Special Communication Administration are required to work out a legal route for blocking electronic information resources with content forbidden by law, as well as to draft proposals for its administrative and technical support.
