As from July 20, the subscribers of the Russian digital operator “Tricolor TV” have the option to view three TV channels in 4K format, which are incorporated in the package “Ultra HD”, as stated on the company’s official website.
TRICOLOR ULTRA HD is a channel of the operator’s own production. Its content will consist of domestic and foreign feature films in 4K format and focused on viewers who have reached the age of 16 years.
The content of the Dutch TV channel INSIGHT UHD is aimed at elderly audiences. The TV channel will broadcast interactive TV projects and shows, travel programs and various sports events.
FASHION ONE will tell TV viewers about the fashion world and shows, as well as a luxurious lifestyle.
The UHD channels will be broadcasted in the resolution of 3840×2160 pixels with image transmission rate of 50 frames per second. The digital video signal compression is ensured by the codec HEVC/ H.265.
To view channels in the ultra-high-definition standard, it is required a UHD TV-set supporting the Conditional Access Module CI+ version 1.3 and directly CI+ module or a digital set-top box made by GS Group and supporting 4K format.
Let us recall that “Tricolor TV” was the first in Russia to start the permanent broadcasting of a demo channel in UHD format. About a year later, it became known that the operator would soon broadcast full-scale channels in 4K format.
