Enterprises of Ukrainian space industry increased production by 47% in the first six month

Enterprises of Ukrainian space industry in the first six months of 2016 have increased their of commodity output (in comparable prices) by 47%, and the level of products sales by 39.6% compared to the same period of the last year. This is stated in the official press release of the State Space Agency of Ukraine.

Markets expansion has been the growth factor for production and products sales in the space industry.

“The State Space Agency is actively looking for new projects for the Ukrainian enterprises which would compensate for losses caused by sudden cancellation of contracts with Russia which were up to 80% of turnover, and this would enable the development of the space products manufacturing. During the first six months of the year export volumes grew by more than 1.5 times. Now almost 60% of Ukrainian space industry products are aimed at export “, – said chairman of the State Space Agency Lubomir Szabados.

The main export-oriented enterprises in the space industry are now the Kommunar Corporation, SSPE, CB Iuzhnoe, SE, Hartron, PJSC and Arsenal, CE SPB.

According to the results from January to June 2016, the enterprises of the space industry have produced and sold products with value about 1.35 billion UAH. The total volume of gross output during this period was nearly 1.7 billion UAH.

The growth of the main technical and economic indicators (profitability, revenue, turnover, profitability, etc.) was provided by the enterprises providing a telecommunications services, engineering services and scientific research. Namely – Arsenal, CE SPB, the State Enterprise “Dneprovsky Proektny Institute”, Scientific and Research Technological Institute of Instrument Engineering, SE, CB Iuzhnoe, SE, Ukrkosmos, SE.

In general, the State Space Agency of Ukraine consists of 26 enterprises and organizations of the space industry including 17 state-owned enterprises, 4 joint-stock companies and 5 of budgetary institutions.
