Operator’s subscribers will be able to watch content of one of the largest video services for free.

Russian mobile operator MTS and Megogo online movie theater announced a partnership. Now MTS TV service users can view content within the subscription to Megogo not worrying about the high costs for Internet traffic – it will be free.

SPB TV company was engaged in technical development, and aggregation of this online movie theater to  MTS TV display was implemented by “Stream” company that is one of the operator’s subsidiaries.

The implementation of the overall companies’ project to MTS TV display will be made in several steps. Since today, September 20, VOD-service will be available in the mobile service version, and within the next two months it will be available both in the web-version, and on TVs with Smart-TV function. It is likely that the new service will be available on MTS TV set-top boxes, but the date of its appearance on these devices is not specified yet.

Two types of subscriptions are available for MTS subscribers: daily – for RUR 10 per day, and monthly – for RUR 149 rubles per month. New subscribers can test the new service within a week for free, after this term a prolongation will be done in automatic mode. It should be noted that the basic subscription by Megogo is more expensive – RUR 197 per month. As the company’s representatives explained, these price differences are due to the fact that there are no MTS TV channels in the mobile version of the service and content that is different from the Megogo video library is available.

Also, the partners plan to release a premium content by Megogo with TVOD-access – new films or rating films or TV series will be available at extra charge.
