Roscosmos corporation has signed two contracts for missile launches from 2018 to 2020.
Recently on the official website of Roscosmos (Russian Space Agency) it was announced that International Launch Services, a subsidiary of Khrunichev’s Space Research and Exploration Center, signed contracts for two missile launches till 2020.
Heavy carrier rocket Proton-M equipped with Breeze-M upper stage will be launched first. Two spacecrafts of American production will be simultaneously launched from it – Eutelsat 5 West, a communication satellite, and MEV-1 – the first device in the world designed to extend the life of the satellites. The first launch will take place approximately early in 2018.
The second launch is scheduled for 2019-2020. Proton-M carrier rocket middle-class technology is planned to be applied here for the first time.
Roscosmos corporation continues to lose its position in the market, its share of space business services is only 0.6 %.
