In spring 2017, Kyrgyzstan will completely switch to digital TV

On May 15, 2017 analogue TV broadcasting will be completely turned off in Kyrgyzstan and the whole country will switch to “digit”. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

Plan of the full switch to digital television within two years was discussed in details at the meeting of a special state commission chaired by Gulmira Kudaiberdieva, the Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan.

The Vice Prime Minister said that today the digital signal is already available for 95 % of Kyrgyzstan population.

“Most of the issues in preparation for the switch to digital broadcasting including technical ones is almost solved, analog TV broadcasting will be turned off on the whole territory of the Kyrgyz Republic on May 15, 2017” – Kudaiberdieva explained.

Also she added that the package of digital TV channels is already formed – there are entertainment, scientific, children’s, music and sports TV channels among them.
