In the coming year, the Broadcasting Radiocommunications and Television Concern should be involved in restructuring national digital network, by granting it a license of public operator of digital multichannel TV network. This is reported by the “Detector Media”
This step is one of the procedures to implement digital broadcasting in Ukraine. The BRT Concern has UAH 4 million and 134 thousand of own funds to obtain a provider license. In addition, it is known that the concern also has an amount of EUR 31 million for network restructuring, while the source of these funds remains undefined.
There are 20 items to execute within the general plan.
According to the government decree, Ukraine has also to cut off the analog broadcasting by June 30, 2017. It is known that the step-by-step cutting-off analog TV plan was drafted in October this year.
In the later half of 2017, it is sheduled to work out the issue on transiting regional analog broadcasters to the digital broadcasting standard. In December, 2017, the National Council is to ensure the distribution of channels within the multiplex “for the purpose of efficient use of Ukrainian radio frequency resource”.
In addition, during the coming year it is required to prepare the ground for building infrastructure for the digital signal to cover the Donbass Region along the fighting front, as well as in all the areas out of the Ukrainian authorities’ control and in the Crimea.
At the same time, the authority is going to calculate the number of low-income Ukrainians in need of TV tuners, in order to provide them with necessary equipment.
