“Ruselectronics”, belonging to the “Rostec” Corporation will engage in monitoring digital TV quality, as the Mediasat was informed by the holding’s press office.

The Holding Company has already designed a broadcasting quality control system, which will allow for monitoring link technical parameters, as well as controlling image and sound quality.

At present, “Ruselectronics” has been negotiating with regulatory authorities, broadcasters, and telecom operators for supplying required equipment, specifically digital TV monitoring complexes “S-2000”.

As is known, the Russian analog TV is under preparation to cut off in view of the widespread transition to digital broadcasting. The target programme is a responsibility of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network”. Today, there are two operating multiplexes with 10 channels each. In the near future it is planned to form the third multiplex.

“The TV broadcasting quality is directly tied to the popularity of television as the information and entertainment industry in general, and to the specific TV channels’ rating in particular. Moreover, the technical quality parameters are standardized by public telecom regulatory authorities. Consequently, the task of early detection and elimination of TV signal distortions is very crucial for broadcasters with telecom operators, and supervisory authorities”, as the agency reported.
