Vodafone Ukraine Moves to Innovative Cards with LTE Support

The telecom operator Vodafone Ukraine initiated its migration to USIM cards.

The Vodafone Ukraine started purchasing new advanced USIM cards, which would allow the operator’s subscribers to enjoy services not only in GSM and UMTS networks, but also in the 4G LTE ones. For sure, subject to the availability of such coverage.

USIM cards have an obvious advantage over usual SIM cards not only due to LTE support, but also in view of higher cryptographical security provided by the two-factor authentication technology.

4G ready USIM card is an upgraded version of a SIM card, which would gradually come to replace a usual card on any mobile device.

Optionally, existing subscribers can substitute their standard card for the USIM ones at the nearest Vodafone Ukraine’s service center or brand shop.

According to the operator, today, the penetration rate of LTE smartphones is 8.4% within the Vodafone network in Ukraine, and by the sheduled date of launching 4G in Ukraine in 2018, the penetration rate of smartphones will exceed 20%.

Let us recall that in August of present year, the Vodafone in partnership with the company Nokia tested LTE network in Ukraine.
