The channels of the 1+1 Media Group pass to the Astra 4A satellite.

1+1 Media switches the broadcasting of channels  “1+1”, “PLUSPLUS”, “UNIAN TV”, “Bigudi”, and “Kvartal TV” to the Astra 4A satellite (4.8°E). Until now, the channels broadcasted via the Amos 2 satellite (4°W). This is stated in the Media Group’s official press release.

On 8 December 2016, it was started a simultaneous broadcasting via both satellites. In February 2017, the migration to the new satellite will be completed.

The channels will broadcast from the B3 transponder, where there are already channels “TET”, “2+2” and 1+1 International.

“Finally, we can say with relief that a three-year marathon to consolidate all the channels of the 1+1 Media on one satellite is nearing completion. We move to the Astra 4 satellite. We have a long success cooperation story with SES, and we are aimed at the further development of our partnership. For the time being, our task is to ensure the most comfortable transfer to the new satellite for our audience. At the same time, we go on cooperating with Spacecom on other projects”, as commented on by Yaroslav Pakholchuk, Executive Director at 1+1 Media.

The Mediasat previously informed about the 1+1 Media’s plans to switch own channels’ satellite broadcasting from the satellite Amos 2 to the space vehicle Astra 4A, which were announced in a letter to the pay-TV providers.
