Ukraine does not plan to introduce a 4G network before 2019, as the “Segodnya” reports.

The experts insist that is still very early to talk about putting the fourth-generation network into operation. For a start, Ukraine should get a license for using 4G networks in 2017, and right now the NCCIR is working on tender arrangements.

Also, according to the President of Internet Invest Group Alexander Olshansky, the actual 3G system has not yet paid its way to introduce a new 4G one.

“A unique situation has come about in Ukraine, i.e. we have just managed to introduce 3G, and are already required to introduce 4G because of an artificial procrastination. Today, on the one hand, it is necessary to hold a 4G tender to distribute somehow these frequencies for operators to start introduction. But, on the other hand, there are problems, since this process is costly, and 3G networks have not yet depleated their economic resource. This may be unreasonable even in 2018”, as Mr. Olshansky said.
