The scientists at the NTUU “KPI” (Kyiv Politechnic Institute) have designed the nano-satellite PolylTAN-2, engineered for technological and scientific purposes, as the Platforma informs.

The new invention weighs 1.9 kg. Due to the fact that the satellite was constructed by the professionals of Kyiv “Polytechnic”, it got its name from the word “Polytechnic”.

The vehicle is capable to charge itself, as well as to relay data about the lower atmosphere. It also has an in-built processor to read and record data, transmit it back to Earth, and then to send out information to the banks of universities engaged in the project.

The final works will be carried out in the Netherlands, where the new invention was delivered to. The launch of nano-satellite is sheduled for March 9 in the coming year, and will be carried out by means of a US launch vehicle.

At the same time, 47 small satellites will be also sent into orbit, to be used for about three months.
