3G Interferes with Wi-Fi in Ukraine

Active promotion of 3G in Ukraine caused a serious interference with Wi-Fi networks in the band of 2.4 GHz, as Liga.net informs, referring to the Ukrainian Internet Association.

Thus, the services, provided by Wi-Fi base stations in the band of 2.4 GHz, are jammed by 3G networks.

The Internet Association has already sent a letter to the National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization with suggestions to form a working group to amend the laws on using radio frequency resource of 2.4 GHz, used for Wi-Fi services.

The market players that are UIA members reported that immediately after the large-scale 3G introduction in Ukraine, Wi-Fi network resulted incapable of providing normal services in the band of 2.4 GHz, because 3G transmitters just jammed Wi-Fi signals.
