The Ukraine Today Project ceases its operation, as the Ukrayinska Pravda informs, quoting the media holding’s official web site.

The Ukraine Today ceases to exist on 1 January, 2017.

“The project was supposed to be the voice of the country for the international community. In fact, in 2014, it was the only chance for us to be heard of. But today, the government has assumed this function, and we believe our mission completed. Given the economic situation in our country, we estimate it impossible to support the project of fully social nature, while the government show a zero interest in its existence”, as commented on by the CEO of “1+1 Media” Alexander Tkachenko.

It is pointed out that the holding would fulfill all its obligations to the project.

Let us recall that the Ukraine Today Project was inaugurated in the summer of 2014.

The owner of the media group “1+1 Media” closing down the project is the oligarch Ihor Kolomoyskyi.
