As the coming year 2017 sets in, the TV channel UBR will give up broadcasting, as the Detektor.Media reports, referring to the channel’s production editor Sergei Shinkarev.

This was announced by Mr. Shinkar on his Facebook profile.

“Under the Christmas tree, we have news of closing the orphaned UBR…”, as the editor briefed.

In comments to the statement, one of non-indifferent people put a question whether the channel was closed fully or partially, and Mr. Shinkar answered: “Just fully. As from 1 January 2017, we have an empty screen”.

For the time being, the UBR official web site has no information about a possible shut-down of the TV channel, so it is expected confirmation or contradiction of the production editor’s statements.

As is known, the UBR channel is incorporated into the media holding “Vesti Ukraine”. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence, the TV channel run a special project “The Independent”.
