The National Broadcasting Council unveiled four radio stations, which won the tender for radio frequencies and would broadcast for the Crimea from Chongar. This was reported by the Liga.Novosti, referring to the National Council’s press office.
So, the broadcasts for the Crimean Peninsula will be run by the radio stations “Radio Crimea. Realities”, “Ukrainian Radio”, “TRK “Sofia”, and “TK “Atlant-SV”.
“This is a precedent for Ukraine, because this is the first tender for broadcasting for the Crimea since its occupation. After finishing building of new tower on the mountain Chongar, Kherson Region, 15 km from Access Point (KPVV), it will be possible to start broadcasts”, as told by the member of the National Broadcasting Council Sergey Kostinsky.
Mr. Kostinsky is sure that in view of the upcoming analog TV cut-off, the radio companies’ chance to obtain licenses will significantly increase.
At the same time, the current administration of the Crimean Peninsula assures that it would not allow any Ukraine’s broadcasts to penetrate the Crimean territory, promising to apply any relevant facilities. Mr. Kostinsky stated in turn that the Ukrainian signal would be unable to block due to lacking enough telecom infrastructure”.
Let us remark that the future public broadcaster will get three new radio frequencies.
