The Russian DTH provider “Tricolor TV” and the company Eutelsat Networks Service launched a two-way Internet service, which will use very-small-aperture broadband user terminals (VSAT) manufactured by the company Gilat Satellite Networks (Israel).

The two-way Internet service, which was launched in September 2016, offers private customers and legal entities Internet connection with a bandwidth of up to 40 Mbit/s in the downlink and up to 12 Mbit/s in the uplink.

To connect to the service, users need receiving equipment like a broadband VSAT terminal Gemini, made by the company Gilat, designed for self-installation, and supporting automatic service activation.

By the end of this year, the company No Limit Electronics, engaged in sales and maintenance of the Gilat’s user terminals, is also about to supply the Gilat’s VSAT terminals Scorpio, which are even more localized for self-installation and maintenance, as well as are easier to install on the roof.

The service is run by means of the high-capacity satellite Express AMU1/Eutelsat 36C by Eutelsat, providing a stable coverage of the entire western part of Russia. The Eutelsat service’s operation is supported by the scalable multifunctional system X-Architecture for SkyEdge II-c, designed by the Gilat Company.

“Thanks to the cooperation with the Eutelsat Networks and the use of VSAT broadband user terminals of the Gilat Company, we can offer Russian subscribers a high-quality and affordable Internet connection”, as stated by Alexei Karpov, Director of Sales and Customer Support Department at “Tricolor TV”.
