The Ukrainian service DubFellows allows the Netflix subscribers to watch content in Ukrainian and Russian.

Ukrainian developers designed an online service DubFellows, where one can watch the Netflix TV series with Ukrainian and Russian dubbing.

The service is available only to Netflix subscribers, although in the future, the DubFellows team is about to implement support for Amazon Instant Video, HBO Now, Apple TV, YouTube and Google Play Movies & TV.

To run a local dubbing for TV series from the Netflix library, it is required to install a plugin for Chrome browser, to register and to opt for the item from the DubFellows media library.

So far, the library contains 15 TV series, over 30 seasons and over 400 episodes with audio support in Ukrainian or Russian.

The service’s operation principle is as follows. After selecting TV series and episodes, the system automatically sends users back to the Netflix. At that, the player will get a new option like the audio track management: one may select both a dubbing studio, and language.

The developers also promise to release plugins for the browsers Safari and Firefox, as well as to integrate API directly from Netflix in order to display content on smart TV-sets.

For the first 14 days, the service does not charge any fee to subscribers. The free period may be also extended due to invitations, i.e. for each referral you will be granted with a 10-day free period. Then, the subscription fee will be one dollar per month. This amount will be completed with charges for Netflix, i.e. in Ukraine the video service offers packages for €8, €10 and €12.

As stated on the DubFellows’ web site, the content and all rights are 100% legal. The video demonstration is the area of responsibility of the Netflix. The dubbing is provided by translation studios (which created and uploaded it by themselves, holding all rights to it).

Let us recall that last autumn, it got about that the Netflix was planning to localize its content library for Ukrainian users.
