The international telecommunications company VimpelCom, which holds the assets of the largest Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar, plans to sell part of its telecom towers located in Eurasia. This is reported by the “LIGA.net”  referring to the British professional edition TMT Finance.

It is specified that this is about the towers in four countries like Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Armenia. A total of 12 thousand facilities are put up for sale. For the VimpelCom, according to the statement, it is more profitable to sell all four tower assets to one owner. However, this is not a compulsory condition, and so, different options are welcome to consideration.

According to the TMT Finance, the process of selling towers has been going on for several months, and the investment memorandum was sent out to applicants as far back as January of present year. This possible deal is handled by the investment company TAP Advisors.

Let us recall that the Mediasat reported before about the VimpelCom’s intentions to rebrand and change its name to VEON.
