100% of Ukrainian national radio stations comply with the radio quotas law. This was reported by the Member of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine Sergei Kostinsky.

The regulatory authority conducted three waves of monitoring the air of 14 Ukrainian national radio stations in the period from November 2016 to January 2017.

The recent monitoring results show that all radio stations fully comply with the law, obliging them to dedicate at least 25% of their airtime to Ukrainian songs (in the official language).

At the same time, during two previous monitoring, the National Broadcasting Council detected violators like “Radio Chanson”, KISS FM and “Retro FM” among others.

“Upon entry into force of the radio quotas law, the National Broadcasting Council has identified over 10 radio stations-violators. Today, the total amount of fines exceeds UAH 579 thousand”, as Mr. Kostinsky informs.

Let us recall that in October last year, the National Broadcasting Council and Ukrainian radio stations signed a memorandum on implementation of the radio quotas law.
