The GS Group Holding Company announced the sale of its share in the joint venture Beximco Communication Ltd, which operates in Bangladesh under the trademark RealVU.

Thus, the company put across the investment project on setting up the first Pay-satellite-TV operator in the country. The Beximco Communication Ltd will go on using broadcasting equipment and infrastructure, designed and integrated by the GS Group.

The RealVU Project started in 2016, involving the BEXIMCO, a Bangladeshi diversified conglomerate. The GS Group Holding took on the role of investor, as well as delivered and integrated its own software and hardware solutions to be the basis of RealVU, even after the GS Group’s withdrawal from the project.

The first national DTH platform RealVU provides high-quality broadcasts of digital TV channels throughout Bangladesh. The operator offers 112 TV channels broadcasting in SD and HD standards, including the international English-language channels, popular Indian TV channels, and channels with local content produced in Bangladesh. Digital set-top boxes, designed by the GS Group’s engineers, meet today’s TV audience needs, offering smart features like PVR and time-shift viewing, as well as an electronic program guide (EPG), among others.

“The launch of the DTH platform RealVU as a new project brought the GS Group an immeasurable experience. For the first time, our established joint venture has provided access to digital TV broadcasts for viewers residing in the country with a population of over 165 million people, which previously enjoyed only a low-quality terrestrial and digital cable television. The GS Group Holding took on the role of investor, supplier and integrator of own technological solutions. The RealVU platform became the second international project deployed nationwide, which implemented solutions designed directly by the GS Group”, as stated by Andrey Bezrukov, Strategic Marketing Director at GS Group.

The RealVU platform is the second foreign broadcasting project, setup with the direct GS Group’s involvement. Between 2012 and 2016, the holding company succeeded in implementing One TV Networking Project for the first national DTT operator in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
