PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is a standard for payment card industry data security, established by international payment systems like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB and Discover.

The online cinema MEGOGO obtained a PCI DSS certificate (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). This was reported to the Mediasat by the company’s press office.

MEGOGO obtained the second level of PCI DSS certification, the standard for payment card industry data security. This standard is a joint project of the international payment systems Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB and Discover.

“The standard is a set of 12 detailed requirements to ensure the security of payment card holders’ data, which are transmitted, stored and processed in the information structures of organizations. Its availability evidences a high-level protection and seller’s services, i.e. secure purchases made by online users”, as MEGOGO explains.

To receive this certificate, MEGOGO has passed through all the required procedures like audit, information infrastructure scanning of the video service and special staff trainings.

The second level of PCI DSS certification allows processing up to six million card transactions annually.

“In the Eastern Europe and the CIS, few companies can boast of having a PCI DSS certificate. Its receiving is a complicated and time-consuming procedure. However, it is strategically important for us to facilitate step by step the content access to our users and to guarantee them a high-level protection of personal data and a secure use of online services. In addition, the approval of our operating principles by the international payment systems means the maturity of our service and high responsibility to our users. PCI DSS is a technical recognition of high security standards of our online cinema”, as stated by Ivan Shestakov, Marketing Director at MEGOGO.
