The telecom companies Wnet and “Olli Trans” were raided by the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

“Right now, on 1 June 2017, in the downtown, the company Wnet is facing an armed raid”, as the company states on its official Facebook profile.

“Journalists are not allowed, and people are standing on the street without any excuse. Once again everything is clumsy…”, as  featured by Alexander Fedienko, Chairman of the Board of the Internet Association of Ukraine (InAU), on his Facebook page.

Later on, the SBU spokeswoman Elena Gitlyanskaya confirmed that information.

“The SBU confirms that it has been conducting authorized searches in the office of the Internet provider LLC “Wnet Ukraine”. The investigative actions are undertaken as part of the criminal proceedings, brought under Part 3 of Art. 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: “Funding activities aimed at a violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or takeover of state power, change of territorial boundaries or state border of Ukraine”, as she commented on Facebook.

According to the “Liga”, the SBU has also raided the company “Olli Trans”.

“The company office on 10 Poltavska Street was visited by people wearing SBU chevrons. The company’s staff was locked in the office, and lawyers were sent out on the street. The top-managers were deprived of their phones”, as the edition informs, referring to some well-informed sources.

Wnet is a national IP-operator of Ukraine, which successfully cooperates with leading European companies. The Wnet network is connected to the largest traffic exchange points of Europe and Russia by means of independent channels.

“Olli Trans” is a telecom company that provides broadband Internet access services.
