The NCCIR decided on the date of the first tender for 4G communication.

At its recent meeting, the members of the National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCIR) adopted a decision that the tender procedure for 4G in Ukraine would start on 23 January 2018.

The bids will be accepted from November 13 to December 22 of present year, and the instructions to this tender will be presented to the public before November 10.

There will be put out to tender the frequencies in all Ukrainian regions in the following bands: 2510 – 2545 MHz, 2565 – 2570 MHz, 2630 – 2665 MHz, and 2685 – 2690 MHz.

The telecom regulator anticipates the government’s earnings of at least UAH 2.3 billion from the sale of frequencies.

Let us recall that in the summer of present year, the government approved the instructions to the tender for selling frequencies to launch 4G.

By the way, today, global telecom operators are not against 5G, but they still prefer developing services in the fourth-generation networks, even though the experts detected identified several critical vulnerabilities in 4G technology.
