The number of Ukrainian OTT households has grown to 800 thousand. This was reported by the CEO of BigDataUa Sergey Boyko at the MIT media forum, held in Kyiv on May 15-17.
Every year, the OTT audience has been growing by 25%, while the analog television has been losing its popularity.
Mr. Boyko stated that the OTT audience had been changing too fast.
When in 2013-2014, the audience was “pioneers in technology” who went crazy over innovations and was young, but not teens already capable to pay for expensive entertainment, so today, the technology becomes more popular and cheaper, the audience has been extending and ever approaching to an average viewer.
Sergey Boyko announced more detailed results of IPTV viewing measurements and forecasts by BigDataUa in his speech on May 30 at the conference “Satellite TV: Strategies and Risks of the Ukrainian Market”.
