July 1, telecom operators lifecell, Vodafone Ukraine and Kyivstar set in motion the process of launching 4G communications in the band of 1800 MHz (1.8 GHz). This was reported to the Mediasat by the companies’ press offices.

Thus, according to the information provided, 4G-Internet (LTE-1800) from Vodafone Ukraine became available to residents of 50 localities in 10 regions.

The operator lifecell provided the fourth-generation coverage in the 1800 MHz band to 232 localities in 18 Ukraine’s regions.

“By the year-end, the operator is about to provide the new-generation coverage to 1,500 localities, while 50% of Ukraine’s population will get access to 4.5G technology”, as added by lifecell press office.

Kyivstar, in turn, has so far launched 4G in the band of 1.8 GHz only in Kyiv in order to provide a “carpet” coverage of the capital. July 3, the operator is set to launch LTE-1800 in Odessa, July 5 – in Lviv, and then in other regional centers of Ukraine.

Let us recall that Ukrainian mobile operators began to launch 4G networks in the band of 2600 MHz (2,6 GHz) in late March of present year.
