“Zenith” missiles production for the “Sea Launch” and “Land Launch” projects will be renewed after the funding resumption.

Pivdenmash State Enterprise from Dnipro City will renew the production of the “Zenith” missiles for the “Sea Launch” and “Land Launch” projects after resumption the funding of these programs by the customer that was suspended in 2014.

“Pivdenmash plant does not impose any additional requirements or conditions to continue its participation in the “Sea Launch “and” Land Launch” projects and does not intend to do so. Suspended production of the “Zenith” missiles will be immediately renewed after the resumption of these programs funding by the customer”-  they said in Pivdenmash press service in response to a request by Interfax-Ukraine agency related with the recent media rumors that the production of “Zenith” missiles was allegedly stopped.

The press service noted that the production of missiles “Zenith” type has been suspended by the Pivdenmash in 2014 because of the financial problems faced by the “Sea Launch” and “Land Launch” projects.

Today, the list of Pivdenmash orders includes contracts for the manufacture of 12 missiles  “Zenith” type, including four missiles for the “Sea Launch” project and six ones for the “Land Launch” project.

“Pivdenmash will be happy to meet any attempts to renew “Sea Launch” and “Land Launch” programs” – this was stated by the press service.

Earlier, Russian media reported that the participants of the project, the Russian Rocket and Space Corporation “Energia” and the American company Boeing, have settled commercial dispute around the “Sea Launch” program.

According to media reports, the only factor that allegedly inhibits the development of the “Sea Launch” project is suspending of production the missiles “Zenith” type at the Ukrainian Pivdenmash plant.

As it was previously reported, in September 2015 the US District Court of the Central District of California granted the claim of Boeing company requiring its partners on the “Sea Launch” project, including the Ukrainian plant “Pivdenmash”, to reimburse the losses at the total amount of USD 356 million.
