Roscosmos calculates investment in new Russian cosmodrome

Igor Komarov, the Director General of the Federal Space Agency Roskosmos, informed in his interview to the TV channel “Russia 24” that the Corporation’s experts estimated investment in the new Russian cosmodrome “Vostochny” (Eastern), being under construction in the Far East, as RUR 180 billion, two-thirds of which were invested in launching facilities.
Mr. Komarov announced that in the present year the state-owned corporation Roscosmos had signed 31 agreements on commercial launches. These launches from the future cosmodrome are scheduled for 2018-2019 years.
As known, the Russian President previously postponed the debut start scheduled for December 25 of the current year.
Dmitry Rogozin, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, has recently visited the works at the cosmodrome, and pointed out that the construction and testing works were on schedule.
