In a short time, a new satellite will be subject to the regular tests.

As the “Siberian satellite” informs, the company “Information Satellite Systems” named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev” (“ISS”) has been actually engaged in designing a new heavy space vehicle (SV) called “Blagovest”.

The construction of such vehicles was not known in the past.

According to the edition, the preparatory works are in progress in order to test the SV’s radio-technical properties.

As stated by the “ISS”, that new communications satellite was to be constructed on the basis of the “Express-2000” platform. Due to this feature, it is significantly increased the SV’s power supply rate. This is exactly what improves the capacity of the “Blagovest”’s payload.

That new SV will remain on the geostationary orbit for at least 15 years. It is equipped with the “ISS”-made waveguides of Ka- and Q-bands, which will facilitate a high-speed data transmission and provide users with video and telephone communications, as well as BBA Internet services.
