The company LMT presented its new “Home Smart TV” service, which moves it to the category of TV operators.

According to information published in the LMT’s official press release, the new service will be available to the LMT home internet subscribers living in the 4G coverage areas. The new service will allow LMT’s subscribers to watch foreign and local TV channels on TV-sets and quite possibly on monitors by using Internet connection.

That new service of LMT represents its own option of making technological use of Smart TV function, available on all present-day TV-sets.

The LMT service’s distinguishing feature is that the company provides subscribers with access to certain foreign and local TV channels by using Smart TV function based on 4G-communication technology. It is expected that the new service would be very popular in those Latvian regions that lack access to the cable TV. It will compete mainly with the satellite and Internet TV by Lattelecom.

According to the LMT’s representatives, the access to the fourth-generation communication will be provided all over Latvia by the end of 2017.

In addition to TV channels, the LMT plans to provide access to the services like Google Play and LMT Straume. In the near future, subscribers to the “Home Smart TV”service will be able to enjoy a game content as well. This package of services makes the new LMT’s service the most attractive offer on the market.

The company has not announced yet the price for its new service. One may sign up on the LMT’s website to use the service in a test mode, given the availability of the LMT home internet and 4G coverage.
