Within the Federal Space Program for up to 2025, the State Corporation for Space Activities “Roscosmos” will design and construct a new class rocket “Phoenix”.
It is planned that the new development will be used as the first stage of a super-heavy class rocket, the design of which is actually in progress. According to expectations, the new super-heavy rocket will be able soon to replace the “Soyuz” one. This information was announced by Dmitry Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia. According to Igor Komarov, Head of “Roskosmos”, the current situation in the space rocket engineering market requires strict meeting of deadlines outlined in the program for the construction of a new class launching vehicle.
The State Corporation for Space Activities “Roscosmos”, as assured by Igor Komarov, will account to the country’s top leadership for the works performed within the project of designing a new carrier rocket “Phoenix”.
The Mediasat previously reported the design of a new-generation telecommunications satellite, tentatively called “Blagovest”, by the professionals of the Russian company “Information Satellite Systems named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev”
This month, Russia also plans to carry out the first launch from the Vostochny Cosmodrome (Eastern Spaceport), and as early as in May, it is scheduled another launch of the carrier rocket “Proton-M” with a telecommunications satellite on board.
