The largest gathering of the TV industry in the  CEE region starts in only a week

Zagreb, June 9th, 2016 – The fourth edition of New Europe Market, a market held in Dubrovnik where TV industry professionals gather once a year, starts in only a week, on Tuesday, June 14th.

After three exceptional years, NEM 2016 will once again prove it’s influence and importance in the media industry in the CEE region and the world. Ten thematic panels, two special presentations by some of the leading companies in the world, a keynote presentation held by a TV giant, an exclusive interview with the creators of one of the most prestigious documentaries in the region, a world premier of a long awaited series, countless networking opportunities and unforgettable parties – these are only some of the indicators of what to expect from NEM 2016.

As I always say, a project like this needs three to five years for it to be recognized. And here we are with the fourth edition being right ahead of us with a response as big as ever. There are more companies and participants than ever before and what makes me very happy is the fact that there are more companies from Central and Eastern Europe, regions that NEM has its focus on. – said Sanja Božić-Ljubičić, NEM’s founder.

New Europe Market’s panels are well known as prestigious discussions where top industry influencers touch base on current industry questions. Once again, NEM will explore the key topics of the television world – How far have we come in OTT monetizing?  and Is DTH ready for OTT challenge?; the panels The Pressure is on, Quo Vaditis, Media Buying Agencies? and Embracing the Digital  will discuss the future of television and new technologies; the speakers of the panels Sports Channels – Is the Playing Field Overcrowded?  and Is Channel Bundling on its Way Out? will talk about adjusting channel structures in an ever-evolving industry; the discussions Reality TV – Is It Fading Out or Just Getting Wings? and Reboot, remake, revival – are they cluttering the space for new ideas? will once again prove that content is the king and finally, we will enjoy a discussion about an important social matter, Powerful Women Leaders for Powerful Media Industry.

Leading professionals from all over the world, including Keshet International’s Keren Sharar, Viacom International Media Networks’ senior vice president and general manager for the CEE region and Israel Bartosz Witak, Eutelsat’s senior vice president of sales for Dach, CE Europe, Israel, Caucasus and Central Asia Apostolos Triantafyllou, as well as some of the biggest names in the region such as Henning Tewes, CEO of RTL Croatia, Manja Grčić, director of Antenna Group for Serbia and Montenegro, and Dražem Mavrić, head of the management board at Nova TV, are only a few of this year’s prestigious speakers.

NEM 2016 will be opened with a keynote speech from Mr. Christoph Mainusch, co-CEO of Central European Media Enterprises and executive director and CEO of Nova Group who will talk about The Future of TV in a Digital Environment. This year’s attendees will also have the chance to see special presentations by NEM’s diamond sponsor Eutelsat and Infobip.

The cast of the documentary film made in co-production with HBO Europe, Houston we have a problem!, which premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, will take the stage of the panel room in a conversation with renowned TV journalist Antonija Mandić, and the attendees will also be able to enjoy an exclusive opportunity to watch the world premiere of a new exiting series by award-winning director Dalibor Matanić, The Paper, which will air this fall on Croatian Radiotelevision.

Podravka brings a special treat to NEM – a Culinary Break with MasterChef Dhruv Baker, who will present his new series Croatia’s Finest with the help of the Croatian chef Mišel Tokić, after which they’ll show the attendees a bit of their culinary magic.

NEM’s legendary parties won’t disappoint – we’ll enjoy a welcome drink, courtesy of Fox Networks Group, see the well-known sunset at the Viasat World Party and dance the night away during VICE’s party at club Lazareti.

After a hugely successful third edition, NEM keeps growing and developing, and will provide the participants with amazing business opportunities.
